Biography

Hon. Michel Chebat (born on 23rd May 1969), affectionately known as Micho, has become a veritable powerhouse in Cayo North in the years he has been working there. That’s because he hit the ground running, and has never stopped working for the people, dealing with their issues and becoming the real representative for an area which has been neglected.

In November 2020 he was elected as the area representative for Cayo North and was assigned the responsibility of the Ministry of Health & Wellness (MOHW). Since January 2022, Hon. Michel Chebat has been heading the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics and E-Governance. Under his leadership, the Ministry has undertaken several important policies and enacted new legislations including the Digital Government Bill which will have a transformational effect on the services provided by the Government of Belize.
