Signing of a Consent Agreement with Indian Creek Village in the Toledo District for a Rural Electrification Project.

The Village Chairman and Alcalde of Indian Creek Village in the Toledo District and the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics and E-Governance (MPUELE) signed a Consent Agreement for a Rural Electrification Project on Saturday, May 6, 2023.
The project, which will provide electricity to all Indian Creek residents in the Toledo District, is being implemented by the Ministry and funded by the United Arab Emirates in the amount of US $2.3 million. Through a partnership with the ministry, Belize Electricity Limited will manage and operate the 400 kW solar hybrid mini-grid system. Indian Creek residents will have access to power at the national rate.
